2026 Summer Adult Co-ed 4v4 Soccer League Rules
We are offering our first season for free to get people setup in the system and helping us grow the programs. This would normally cost $40-$50 for 7 games so expect those prices in future seasons.
We still have to provide insurance which is a set cost per person that is participating in our programs. Please make sure you have purchased your Player Insurance Card at the top of the programs before the first game. The Player Card costs $40 and is good for a whole year of league and event coverage through Sisters Sports Leagues. We don't make any money on this cost so any donations will go towards fields, equipment, and program expansions like hiring the high schoolers to be referees.
Season begins the Week of July 20th with games on Mondays or Tuesdays depending on amount of teams and field schedules. Times will most likely always be in the afternoon/evening.
This is an adult co-ed 4v4 soccer. Minimum of 4 people must be on the roster but can roster up to 8. A minimum of 1 of each gender has to be on the team to be eligible to play. 1 of each gender must be on the field at all times. Any combination after that is up to you.
This small team playstyle will played on specially design smaller fields to encourage fun fast and fair play soccer (that hopefully won't break us old folks still playing soccer) that allows our small town to hold league style games here in Sisters. Each team will be required to have one *goalie, one defender required to stay on their teams half of the field, one midfielder that can go full field, and one offensive player that has to stay on the opposing teams side of the field. *A team can opt out of playing with a goalie and have an extra fielder but they must make that known at the beginning of each half and there must be no person that uses their hands if they opt out of a goalie. They can change back to a goalie at the beginning of the second half. Each half must be fully played either with a goalie or without a goalie. No changing mid play.
We will be playing our first season with the field in the outfield of the Sisters Community Church Baseball fields so games will be on grass. No metal cleats is an absolute rule. You do not have to wear cleats if you don't have them or forget them but highly suggested to have cleats because they really do help on the grass. Shin guards will eventually be required for your own safety but because we are short on time and you do not have them then you can still play. We may have some spares at the field or can always do the swap game with your subs off the field.
Team jersey rules. You will find on your team schedule if you are home or away. Home teams wear black or darker colors. Away teams wear white or lighter colors. Teams can decide to pick a non white or black Team Color to wear if they choose. Just make sure it is a color that isn't close to black or white. If your team picks a team color and you forget that shirt then just wear your current home or away colored shirt.
Refereeing: For this first season, because we offered this season for no league cost we will be self Refereeing meaning Drew Herburger will be handling it or the teams will do their best to make fair self judgments. Future seasons our goal is to have paid referees with our intention to employee Sisters High Schoolers to create job and learning opportunities for them.
Attention: Inhouse rules- If both teams have the amount of players and want to play 5v5 instead of 4v4 then both teams can play a 5th player that would be a 2nd Mid fielder playing the whole field. If one team has too many no shows making only 3 players, they can still play a game with no forfeit rules applied. The opposing team can still play 4 players or if they want to play a more fair game and only play 3 on the field then that is up to them. They can add their 4th at any time if they feel like they are losing 3v3 and want their advantage back. If the opposing team has spare players and want to allow one to sub for the team that is short for more playing time then they can do that.
The Field: The field will be using reusable lines around the field that can be put down and pulled up after the games. To avoid creating tripping hazards we will not have lines inside the field box. The teams will start with the ball in the general area of the center of the field. No offsides will be enforced.
A forfeit is applied if a team only can get 2 people to show up for the game or if no one from a certain gender does not show making them eligible for a co-ed team. If a team has to forfeit then the game will be marked as a 2-0 loss and will receive a club warning about showing up to the games. We want to encourage teams and players to show up to all the scheduled games so that everyone that is paying is getting a full game/season experience. If a team has to forfeit a second game then there will be a $20 penalty fee applied that the team captain will be responsible for. Feel free to get that money from the person that caused the forfeit. If three games are forfeited in a season then the team captain will not be allowed to make a team the following season, but can try again after that. They may still sign up for a league to play but we are trying to encourage team captains to put together teams that can follow through with the schedule. If you have people that might not make some games then be sure to roster extra players that can make those days. We will be pretty flexible with this. Just do your best to make a playable game during your teams scheduled times. Sending a friend to play in your place helps.
